The Clinton Prairie basketball team played at home Saturday night versus the Cavaliers of Tri-County. The Gophers went right to work on the defensive end, only allowing seven points in the first quarter and only 16 by halftime as the Gophers lead 19-16.
The Gophers exploded offensively in the second half. Jared Stillwell led all scorers with 17 points. The Gophers never looked back as they extended their lead after the third. The Gophers improved to 9-5 with a 62-51 win.
The Gophers were also led by Kale Morris who scored 16 points and pulled down a season high 15 rebounds and also dished 4 assists. Drew Scott shot 6 for 8 from the field and scored 14 points. Merrick McGraw added nine points and six rebounds while Jacob Price and Doug Coapstick added three apiece, respectively.
