Hello Gophers! Here is the latest news and notes from Prairie Athletics:

  • Senior Caiden Maish’s wrestling season came to end Saturday at the New Castle Semi-state. Please congratulate Caiden on an outstanding season in which he claimed an HHC Championship at 195 lbs. and was the first Gopher to reach Semi-state is roughly 10 years. Great job Caiden Maish!
  • The Boys Basketball team split their weekend game with a Friday night road victory over HHC foe Taylor before dropping a home contest vs. Covington Saturday night. The Varsity currently stands at 12-6 on the season and sits in 3rd place in the HHC with just one game remaining in conference play. This week the boys travel to Crawfordsville on Tuesday night and host Tri-Central on Friday. Friday night’s game is Senior Night for Boys Basketball and Elementary Cheer Night as well. Sectional pairings are released on Sunday. The Gophers are in the Class 2A Sectional 38 tournament hosted by Delphi this year. Next Tuesday is the final home game of the season and all Senior cheerleaders, Priairiettes, wrestlers, and pep band members will be recognized prior to the start of the Varsity contest.
  • Monday, March 11th, is Winter Awards Night. The combined portion of the program will start at 7pm in the Auditorium. The individual team portions will either take place before or after the combined portion. Once a schedule is finalized it will be released.
