Good morning! Here is the latest news and notes from the Athletic Department…

  • Congratulations to the Girls Track and Field team, who ran away with their 3rd consecutive HHC title Friday night at Carroll. The Girls scored 144 points while second place Carroll finished with 98 and third place Rossville finished with 69 points. HHC C=champions for the Gophers were Adri Isaacs (400m Relay), Emily McGirt (400m Relay), Alyssa Lukasik (400m Relay, High Jump), Kylee Maish (400m Relay), and Melody Tolley (800m, 16oom). The Gophers also claimed 6 other top 3 finishes in their victory. The Boys Track and Field team finished 7th at the same meet. Senior Night for both the Boys and Girls team will be Thursday vs. Sheridan prior to the 5pm meet start time. Prairie also travels back to Carroll tonight for a dual meet.
  • The Boys Golf team finished the week 1-1 in dual meets while also participating in the Covington Invitational on Saturday. Grant McGraw earned medalist honors in the dual with Sheridan on Monday firing a 2-over par 38. The Gophers were defeated at home by North Montgomery on Wednesday. Results from the Covington Invitational have yet to be released. Senior Night for the Boys Golf team is tonight (5/6) following their 4:30PM match vs. Taylor and Delphi. The Gophers will also host the HHC Meet at Deer Track on Saturday morning starting at 8AM.
  • The Lady Gopher Softball team defeated WeBo 3-2 on Monday, Lafayette Central Catholic 8-4 on Wednesday, and Faith Christian 13-3 on Friday.  This week is another busy week as CP travels to Sheridan on Monday, hosts Tri-Central on Tuesday, visits McCutcheon on Wednesday, and is on the road again on Thursday at Taylor.
  • The Prairie Baseball team finished a big week with three wins, including two victories over teams at the top of the HHC. After thumping Bethesda Christian 18-0 on Monday, Prairie shutout Rossville 2-0 and defeated Sheridan 9-3 at Grand Park on Friday. The Gophers remain undefeated in HHC play with two conference games scheduled this week. CP travels to Taylor on Monday and hosts Tri-Central on Tuesday. The scheduled contest vs. Fountain Central on Thursday has been canceled and the Gophers also host North White for a DH on Saturday starting at 11AM.
