Here are the latest news and notes from Prairie Athletics:

  • The Football team secured a 69-14 victory over Taylor last Friday night and improved to 4-3 heading into Senior Night this Friday versus the Carroll Cougars. Jacob Fullerton lead the way with five touchdowns as the Gophers scored on their first offensive play on at least three drives. Senior Night festivities will start around 6:35pm for Football players and managers whiles the other Fall Sport Seniors will be honored at halftime. The Boys JV team travels to Covington tonight and the Junior High team travels to Taylor on Tuesday looking to remain undefeated.
  • The Volleyball team is in action several nights this week as they travel to Delphi and Clinton Central for their remaining HHC contests before hosting the 12-team Prairie Invite on Saturday. Prairie also learned their Sectional 37 opponent yesterday evening. The Lady Gophers drew Carroll in the opening game on Tuesday night at 7pm. Other teams in the highly competitive Sectional include Delphi, Fountain Central, Seeger, Rossville, and Lewis Cass. Clinton Prairie is once again serving as the host site. The Junior High girls host Rossville and the 6th grade hosts Lebanon on Tuesday night this week.
  • The Cross Country teams ran in the HHC Meet last weekend. Earning all conference for the Gophers were Logan Barrett, Steven McClellan, Wesley Whitlock, and Alex Brettnacher for the boys and Melody Tolley, Rebekah Lloyd, and Zoe Beard for the girls. The girls finished 2nd while the boys finished 4th. Up next for the Gophers is the Harrison Sectional, which is held at the Tippecanoe Amphitheatre this Saturday. The Junior High team set numerous PRs with Ethan, Diego, Mason, and Sadie joining conference champion Hayden Kemple on the All-Conference team.
  • Senior Night is this Friday night at the football game. Football players and managers will be honored before the game at approximately 6:35pm. All other Fall Sport Athletes (Cheerleading, Girls Golf, Cross Country, Band) will be honored at halftime of the game. Come out and show your support for these outstanding Gophers!
  • Fall Sport Awards Night is scheduled for Wednesday, November 6th at 7pm.
