Here are the latest news and notes from Prairie Athletics…

  • The Boys Basketball team secured their third Hoosier Heartland Conference title in the last four years by Tri-Central 55-33 on the road. The win secured an undefeated HHC season for the Boys and improved their record to 16-4 overall. The Gophers travel to Fountain Central before returning for Senior Night against Western Boone on Friday at home. Boys Basketball players will be honored immediately after the JV basketball game while Senior Cheerleaders, Prairiettes, Pep Band members, and Wrestlers will be honored at halftime of the Varsity game. The IHSAA Sectional draw was released on Sunday. The Gophers will play the winner of Western Boone/Fountain Central on Friday night in the second game at Western Boone.
    • HHC Conference Championship shirts for Boys and Girls will be sold beginning later this week. Once the design is finalized it will be advertised.
    • Sectional tickets will go on sale Wednesday in the Athletic Office.
    • A sign up for he fan bus will also be made available next week. Cost is $2 to ride or $12 for the ride and Sectional ticket (all sessions).
  • The Junior High Girls Basketball teams competed in the County Tournament this weekend at Clinton Prairie. The 7th Grade team defended their home court and won the championship. The 8th Grade came up just short as they fell in the title game. Both teams played extremely hard and continue to improve.

  • March 11th: Athletic Booster Club Annual Meeting, 7pm, Administration Building- please join us as we vote on some important issues that will impact the future of Prairie Athletics for years to come.
  • March 17th: Winter Sport Awards Night, 7pm, Auditorium
