Here are the latest news and notes from Prairie Athletics…

  • The Girls Basketball team completed a third consecutive undefeated HHC season and league championship with a dominating victory over Clinton Central. Earlier in the week the Lady Gophers won a tight contest with 2A #15 Tipton. With the two wins, Prairie finished the regular season 18-2. The Lady Gophers will face the winner of the Central Catholic/Rossville game in the first of the Sectional semi-finals on Friday night. Tickets are limited to two tickets per participant. Best of luck to Coach Anthrop and the Lady Gophers in the IHSAA Sectional tournament this week.
  • The Boys Basketball team also picked up two victories last week, winning on the road at Frontier and Clinton Central. With the wins the Boys improve to 10-4 on the season and 3-2 in the HHC. This week the boys host Rossville on Thursday and travel to North White for a Saturday afternoon game. Each participant will receive 4 tickets for Thursday’s home game and all extra tickets will be sold in the main office Friday morning. We are limited to 300 spectators total.
  • The Wrestling team competed in the Frankfort Sectional last Saturday. Sean Patrick narrowly missed a Sectional title and placed 2nd. He will advance to the Frankfort Regional this Saturday. Other Gophers who placed were Parker Minks (5th), Drew Duarte (6th), and Kaden Mullendore (6th).
  • The Junior High Girls Basketball team will host Faith Christian tonight and travel to Carroll on Thursday. The game at Clinton Central on Monday was rescheduled for Thursday, February 11th.
