Cam Cornell was dialed in at the plate on Friday, tallying four hits and leading the Clinton Prairie Lady Gophers to a 10-1 win over Taylor. Cornell singled in the first, doubled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.
CP got things started in the first inning when Joei Fullerton singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. The Lady Gophers put up four runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by Clinton Prairie was led by Molly Thomas, Victoria Florence, and Shalynn Barnett, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Maddie Cornell was on the rubber for Clinton Prairie, she allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five and walking one.
Madelyn Uncapher was in the circle for Taylor. She lasted four innings, allowing nine hits and five runs while striking out two. Brooklyn Meadors threw three innings in relief.
Clinton Prairie tallied 15 hits. Cornell, Fullerton, Florence, Shalynn Barnett, and Thomas each had multiple hits for Clinton Prairie Gophers Varsity. Cornell went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Clinton Prairie in hits. CP improves to 13-9 over all and 5-2 in the Hoosier Heartland Conference.
