Shalynn Barnett would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base on Monday, driving in four on two hits to lead the Clinton Prairie Lady Gophers past Carroll 16-1 on Monday. Barnett drove in runs on a single in the third, a single in the fourth, and a groundout in the fifth.
In the first inning, Carroll got their offense started when Kelsey Hammond’s sac fly scored one run for Carroll. CP got the bats going in the 3rd scoring 7 runs.
Clinton Prairie then scored seven runs in the fifth inning. Hannah Wilson, Barnett, Molly Thomas, Cadyence Rios, and Victoria Florence all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Maddie Cornell led things off in the circle for Clinton Prairie Gophers Varsity. She lasted four innings, allowing three hits and one earned run
Clinton Prairie tallied ten hits in the game. Cam Cornell, Barnett, and Wilson each collected multiple hits for the Clinton Prairie Gophers. Wilson, Barnett, and Cornell each collected two hits to lead Clinton Prairie. The Lady Gophers finished the Hoosier Heartland Conference with 6-2. They are 14-9 overall.
