Clinton Prairie Lady Gophers Overcomes Bethesda Christian In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning
Clinton Prairie weathered a scare by Bethesda Christian in the fourth inning where CP coughed up three runs, but the Lady Gophers still won 8-3 on Monday. R Shaffer, S Koch, and M Baker each had RBIs in the big inning.
Clinton Prairie fired up the offense in the first inning, when Cam Cornell grounded out, scoring one run.
CP then put up four runs in the fourth inning. The Lady Gophers big bats were led by Layne Snyder, Cornell, and Shalynn Barnett, all knocking in runs in the inning.
R Stephens toed the rubber for Clinton Prairie. She allowed seven hits and three runs over five innings, striking out two and walking zero.
B Dodsod was on the rubber for Bethesda Christian. She surrendered eight runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out four.
CP scattered nine hits in the game. Snyder and Cornell all collected multiple hits for Clinton Prairie. Cornell and Snyder each collected two hits to lead CP. Clinton Prairie was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Barnett made the most plays with six,including a double play, her 6th of the season.
Koch led Bethesda Christian with two hits in three at bats. CP improves to 13-7.
