Clinton Prairie Can’t Catch Up To Western Boone
The Clinton Prairie Lady Gophers Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 3-1 loss to Western Boone on Monday. Western Boone scored on a single by B Burns and a groundout by H Redlin in the first inning.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Western Boone pitchers struck out 14, while Clinton Prairie Gophers Varsity sat down one.
In the first inning, Western Boone got their offense started when Burns singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Redlin led things off on the hill for Western Boone. She lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out 14.
Rebekah Stephens got the start for Clinton Prairie. She lasted six innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out one and walking one.
Molly Thomas, Burris, Peyton Ray, and Cam Cornell each collected one hit to lead Clinton Prairie. Shalynn Barnett had two double plays in the game.
Western Boone was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Burns had the most chances in the field with 15
